Driveways are prepared with a road crush sub-grade that is mechanically plate tamped. The slab is supported with an 18″ on-center rebar grid.
We use is 32 MPA duramix concrete placed at 4.5 inches thick.
We utilize expansion joints as they are crucial to controlling cracking. We offer driveways with “saw-cuts” or “wet-cuts” depending on the homeowners’ preference and our recommendation.
In addition to our unique concrete designs for your driveway, we also offer additional features that will be sure to make your driveway one of a kind. These features include:
Perimeter Driveway Lighting – Perimeter lighting such as pothole lights or LED lights can be very useful by establishing a boundary to guide parking cars and wandering visitors. Ground lights aren’t just for landscaping but can be installed directly into the driveway surface too. This is a great idea if you live in a residential or commercial property that lacks the space for more traditional exterior lighting.
Heated Driveways – How would you like to never worry about shoveling snow again? Armored Concrete can make that happen with our heated driveway system installations. The system can be placed under various driveways like concrete, asphalt, or pavers stopping the accumulation of ice and snow. The snow and ice melting system are made even more convenient for our unpredictable Alberta climate as it has a built-in moisture and temperature sensing control feature for automated activation.
Concrete is a common building material for sidewalks, patios, and, of course, driveways.
Concrete is strong, long-lasting, and low-maintenance, with a lifespan of up to 50 years under ideal conditions. Furthermore, concrete provides curb appeal and can increase the value of your property.
A concrete driveway can add the finishing touch to your home or building, and Armored Concrete Services can assist you!
What Exactly Is Concrete?
Concrete has been used as a building material for over a century, dating back to the mid-1800s. While many homeowners and business owners believe that concrete and cement are interchangeable, they are not.
One of the materials used is cement (pulverized limestone and clay).
Concrete comprises a variety of stone aggregates that are held together by a mixture of water and cement. Concrete can be formed into various elements once it has been mixed to the proper consistency.
